Auto-generated batches of 5 digits only show the first 4 digits, which causes an error when updating the costing for multiple employments.

Fix for ODBC error in leave alerter: ihelp 567124

iHelp: 567124

EMP-9979

Reported by:  City of Greater Geelong (COGG)

Located at:

Leave Alerter

Issue

An Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) interface error occurs when COGG staff try to access the Leave Alerter.  The Alerter function attempts to insert a 70-character string into a 40-character field, resulting in the ODBC error.

Resolution

As an interim solution, the database tables are aligned so both fields are 70 characters long. (The system still displays a truncated value).
Future ODBC errors caused by character length mismatches are prevented.
