Onboarding via Employee Self Service (ESS)

New employees can now enter their own tax details, super fund information, and payment instructions through Employee Self Service during the onboarding process. These entries are then workflowed to Payroll/HR via the alerter for validation.

Self-service options include:

Tax details such as TFN (or selects applying/under 18/exemption), employment basis, residency, tax category, HELP/STSL and medicare information
Super fund selection and member details such as fund, member number, join date and USI
Payment instructions can now be added from scratch. Previously, you could only change existing payment instructions

Note : Employees can access Self Service once their status code has been set to 'e%' and they've been given an IDMS account (for SSO) or a self-service password.

GetEmployeeDetails API Enhancement

The GetEmployeeDetails API now includes additional search options (surname, given name, and start date) to help integrated systems locate employee records more accurately. This improvement supports the TasTAFE identity management integration by making it easier to match and sync employee data between systems. This works automatically in the background, so you won't see any changes to your usual EmpowerHR screens.

UpdateActivelyRecruitedPositions API Enhancement

The UpdateActivelyRecruitedPositions API allows external recruitment systems to automatically flag positions as actively being recruited in EmpowerHR. This improvement supports the TasTAFE integration by keeping recruitment status in sync between your recruitment platform and the HR system. When recruitment teams mark a position as actively recruited in their system, this status now updates automatically in EmpowerHR without manual data entry.

GetVacantPositions web service Enhancement

The GetVacantPositions API allows external recruitment systems to automatically retrieve current vacant position information from EmpowerHR. This improvement supports the TasTAFE integration by giving recruitment platforms real-time access to available positions, including detailed position information and classifications. When positions become vacant in EmpowerHR, recruitment systems can now discover them automatically without manual lists or spreadsheets.
